<P>With awards season in full gear, a number of the music industry's biggest names headed out to Palais des Festivals on the French Riviera in Cannes for the NRJ Awards. <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a>, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml">Rihanna</a> and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lmfao/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> all walked away with trophies. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="id:1672718" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Adele won two awards, taking home International Revelation of the Year and International Song of the Year for "Someone Like You." <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lmfao/artist.jhtml">LMFAO</a> also walked away with two prizes: Music Video of the Year for "Party Rock Anthem" as well as International Group/Duo of the Year. The guys performed the song at the show along with their party track "Sexy and I Know It." Rihanna won International Female Artist and later took to <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/rihanna/status/163404747896926208">Twitter</a> to thank everyone for the recognition. "Thank you NRJ and my #FRENCHNavy and all the fans who voted, for your immense support!" she wrote. "I love you always #InternationalFemaleOftheYearNRJ." Shakira won the NRJ Award of Honor, and Bieber took home the male version of the award. The teen star took the stage in his baby blue printed jacket and black jeans, telling the room, "I'm just really excited to be here. I want to thank all my fans for being so amazing. I want to do another French song. I did one French song but I want to do some more French and hopefully perfect. My grandma's first language is French." Taylor Swift: Dumped by Eddie Redmayne?
Poor Taylor Swift. Not only did this singer recently lose out on a role in Les Miserables (the part of Eponine went to Samantha Barks instead), but she reportedly lost a new love interest in the process.
According to Us Weekly, Taylor met British actor Eddie Redmayne (My Week with Marilyn) while auditioning for the character in October 2011 and “they hung out in New York City with the movie’s execs. Taylor developed feelings for him fast.”
Redmayne, who actually attended Eton College with Prince William, felt something for Swift, as well, an insider confirms, meeting up with her on January 24 in London and staying over the next night in Taylor’s hotel room. It’s unclear why.
Alas, Swift returned home, learned she did NOT win the part in Les Miserables and then received doubly bad news: Redmayne was “not interested in a long-distance relationship,” this source says.
Seriously, will Swift’s guitar ever be free from tear drops?!?

On Thursday (January 19), <a href="http://www.glaad.org/mediaawards" target="_blank">GLAAD announced their nominees</a> for the annual awards, which "recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives." </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:683386.id:1669247" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Previous GLAAD Award winner Lady Gaga is up for Outstanding Music Artist along with "The Voice" contestant Beverly McClellan, Girl in a Coma, Hunx and His Punx, and MEN. "Pretty Little Liars," which features a lesbian character, will face off against "Degrassi," "Grey's Anatomy," "Shameless" and "Torchwood: Miracle Day" for Outstanding Drama Series. On the comedy side of the TV spectrum, Golden Globe winner "Modern Family" will duke it out against "Glee," "Happy Endings," "The Big C" and "Exes and Ohs." Another "Glee"-related program, "The Glee Project," is up for Outstanding Reality Program along with "Dancing With the Stars," "Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys," "The Real L Word" and "The Voice" (which returns on February 5). "J. Edgar" has been recognized in the Outstanding Film – Wide Release category alongside "Albert Nobbs" and "Beginners." HBO's "Cinema Verite" is the only film up for Outstanding TV Movie or Mini-Series. "As media continue to tell new stories about LGBT people and families, a majority of Americans now support full equality of LGBT Americans," Mike Thompson, GLAAD's acting president, said in a statement about this year's nominees. "This year's nominees enlighten and entertain, while spotlighting the diversity of our community. Viewers know that LGBT characters and stories are simply natural extensions of, and glimpses into, their own experiences from across America." Three ceremonies will be held to hand out awards, in New York on March 24, Los Angeles on April 21 and San Francisco on June 2.</p>

The Bourne Legacy Trailer: Jeremy Renner Takes Over
The first trailer for The Bourne Legacy has debuted and with it, Jeremy Renner takes over the franchise from Matt Damon. Does he prove to be a worthy replacement?
From the looks of it, yes.
Renner plays a different agent than Damon’s Bourne (hence the Legacy aspect of the title), and Damon’s character still looms large, making the transition seamless.
Plus, Renner looks bad ass as Kenneth Kitson. Check it out:
Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Scott Glenn and David Strathairn return from previous films, while newcomers Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz round out the cast of Legacy.

Leslie Carter Funeral: Nick Carter Excluded By Family?
The Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter says he wanted to attend his sister Leslie Carter’s funeral in Upstate New York this weekend, but his own family made it impossible.
Say what now?
As the 25-year-old Leslie was laid to rest at a small ceremony after a suspected drug overdose claimed her life last week, several family members were on hand.
Just not Nick.
Nick Carter said that, “I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic.” He would not explain the circumstances.
Sources close to the singer, however, say feels family members went out of their way to make sure he was not included. Brother Aaron Carter was present.
“There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister,” Nick said, again not elaborating. “I am trying to stay healthy, positive, and focused.”
Leslie’s stepmother, Ginger, said reports of Nick being excluded by the family are not true, but quickly hung up the phone before explaining any further.

‘This tour is going to be really good for her,’ psychic Jesse Bravo says of Gaga’s planned 2012 BTW Ball.

<P><P><P><P>As 2012 rolls along, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> has already teased she has some <a href="/news/articles/1676582/pop-culture-news-2012-beyonce-lady-gaga.jhtml">big plans</a> ahead. So MTV News decided to look to New York-based psychic Jesse Bravo to see what fate has in store for the pop superstar. Bravo recently rolled up to the MTV News offices and looked into his crystal ball. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:722498.id:1676617" width="240" height="211"></div><p> "Lady Gaga for 2012, it's going to be sort of a slower year for her because she has her tour, which means she's not putting out a lot of new material," Bravo explained, despite Gaga's tease that she is working on her <a href="/news/articles/1675458/lady-gaga-next-album.jhtml">follow-up to 2011's <i>Born This Way</i></a>. "So for me, when I sort of looked up around there to see what was happening for her, I saw her sales sort of slow down because of new material. But she's also building up this new momentum for running her base for this tour. This tour is going to be really good for her." Gaga has already thought about the <a href="/news/articles/1675649/lady-gaga-born-this-way-tour.jhtml"><i>Born This Way</i> Ball</a>, tweeting over the holidays that she was pondering the things she wants to sell on tour. "Designing merch for the tour, when you see it you will die. <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/152392027093483520" target="_blank">#deathbyinexpensiveglamour</a>," she wrote. Mother Monster is also famously known for her wild style, which Bravo said won't disappoint in the next 12 months. "I believe her next big outfit is a cross between two things, and I was sort of stuck in between, like, where I should go with this because I saw two outfits, which means they can come in succession," he said. "I don't know which one is going to come first. But I will believe the one that I saw is this outfit, and I can't really describe it, but it's going to have lights embedded in it. So it's going to be pretty bizarre. And then I saw another outfit and it's like a body outfit, one that you spray-paint on, and I don't know if it's a stars-and-stripes theme, but I saw that there were stars and stripes in the right areas." In addition to all the ups in her career, Gaga's personal life will also prosper, according to Bravo, which means that she may get even more serious with her rumored beau and "You and I" co-star, "Vampire Diaries" actor Taylor Kinney. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:722468.id:1676617" width="240" height="211"></div><p> "Her personal life is going to stay stable for a while. The reason why is that on the outside she shows she's a strong character — and for business she is — but on the inside she's a mush. And so as a result, she needs to have her relationship in place, especially right now when she needs that support on going on something that's so big," he said. "Two years is a long, long time [to tour]. I don't think that relationship is going … it's not going out." Just how serious might they get? Well, Gaga, believe it or not, is already pondering a family, according to Bravo. (Although she did note in a recent interview that the only family she is focused on is <a href="/news/articles/1676799/beyonce-baby-lady-gaga.jhtml">her new music</a>.) "I also feel this need of having children. So I don't know how this is going to play because we know she has a tour and she's not going to stop the tour short to have a child," Bravo predicted. "And I know that work is on her mind, but I know that [her spirit guide] Liberace is telling me about a child. And I know that in the back of her mind, she wants one. So I know you are dying to know what the best super bowl commercials of 2012 are! I know I was nd I seriously had a great time doing this post for ya! Ok, so I will admit it – I did not watch the Super Bowl! I was not feeling well and for the first time in YEARS I missed it! So, today I had to go and catch myself up with the National Anthem, Half Time Show and of course commercials. I love love love the super bowl commercials so doing a post like this is not work! I love Sienfeld so this one for Acura was a real treat. I LOVE that Budlight is promoting rescuing dogs. Great commercial.
