Justin Bieber Will Change ‘The Landscape’ With Believe

Producer Mike Posner says Bieber’s next album will make pop artists ‘go back to the drawing board.’

This week, Justin Bieber dropped his single "Boyfriend," marking his first step toward making more mature-sounding pop tunes. Co-producer Mike Posner told MTV News that Bieber's upcoming Believe album displays how far he's come since the sugary sweet ditties of his My World days.

"I think our goal was to make something that me and my friends could listen to in the car," Posner explained. "I think we've all known Justin since he was13, and that's not the kid I was in the studio with anymore. He's an 18-year-old. He skateboards with Lil Wayne and hangs out with Lil Twist. Those are his homies. And he listens to hip-hop and he's a really cool kid. He's not like a corny guy.

"So I wanted to make something that reflected who he is now and who he is going to continue to be," he continued. "We're still working more on the project and it sounds really incredible. I think people have been waiting [for] when he's going to turn that corner, and the time is now."

But Believe isn't going to change just Bieber's career, but all of pop music, Posner added. "He's kind of bringing soul back, and rhythm and blues back and definitely hip-hop into his music. I'm really excited to see how it's going to change the landscape, and I know a lot of artists are going to have to go back to the drawing board."

"Boyfriend" is the lead single off Believe, which will drop later this year. A video is currently in the works, but no release date has been announced.

Donald Driver Receives Apology, Praise From Len Goodman on Dancing With the Stars

Judge Len Goodman delivered a shocker on Dancing with the Stars Monday, apologizing for underscoring NFL star and Week One favorite Donald Driver.

Goodman explained that after watching the episode, he realized he was wrong to give Driver and Peta Murgatroyd a 7 for their crowd-pleasing Cha Cha.

His score of 21 left him near the bottom of the scoreboard, and “I apologize,” Goodman said. “I under-marked you. I watched it back. You did a great job.”

Donald Driver said the mea culpa felt good: “I think we both thought it was a low score, but we made history, so if we continue to make history, we’ll be good.”

“He’s a great judge,” Driver added. “Len, he’s man enough to step up and say he made a mistake and you don’t really get that from too many people today.”

“His integrity showed today. We are smiling ear-to-ear right now.”

Justin Bieber invited his fans to get involved in helping him pick the artwork for his first Believe single, "Boyfriend," and the time has come to reveal which photo fans chose. And the pop singer is giving his fans a lot of bang for their buck for taking the time to vote in the cover-art contest.

After fans voted on Twitter for their favorite of two photos, the shot of Bieber tousling his hair (also known as #JBboyfriend1) won as the single's cover. But that doesn't mean that other shots won't also be used in one form or another.

"But it was so close that …" Bieber tweeted. "We are still going to use #JBboyfriend2 for press and even took one of the FAN MADE submissions and have decided that … we are going to sell an exclusive #BOYFRIEND fan single package in WALMART and the cover will be the one U the fans made!

"So here it is … the cover of the Walmart #BOYFRIEND SINGLE COVER … made by U the fans! thank u! This is OUR ALBUM!" he tweeted before revealing the photo, which blends #JBboyfriend1 and #JBboyfriend2, the latter of which is just a shot of him looking off into the distance.

"Boyfriend" officially drops on March 26. Believe will drop later this year. Produced by Mike Posner, the track features a bit of Bieber rapping lines like "Tell me what you like, dear/ Tell me what you don't/ I could be your Buzz Lightyear/ Fly across the globe/ You don't even need to fight, dear/ You already know/ I can make you shine bright/ Like you're laying in the snow, brrr."

Mike “The Situation” has check into rehab for substance abuse. I watch the show regularly (shut up, it is a guilty pleasure, a wildly popular one) and Mike definitely seemed very sketchy this season. He was very sweaty, paranoid, and cranky. There was a definite difference. According to reports, Mike realized that he had a problem and was the one to check himself into the Cirque Lodge in Utah. He took to his blog to clear things up, I want to set the record straight. I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion. I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys. I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would’ve taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here’s a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

Lady Gaga has never come across a topic that she won't open up about. And in a new, candid interview with Oprah Winfrey on her show "Oprah's Next Chapter," Mother Monster chats about someday actually becoming a mother.

"Yes, I want kids, I want a soccer team and I want a husband," she said in the special, which airs Sunday on Winfrey's OWN cable network. "Yeah, I do. Well, you know, I'm being superfluous. I don't want to have one kid. I want to have a few."

Gaga, who is currently planning her Born This Way world tour, noted that her plan to be a mom won't happen anytime soon. "I want to experience that," she said making a baby bump with her hands and laughing, "[but] not yet."

Most of the special was filmed in Gaga's native New York City, but part was also filmed at Harvard University last month. The singer and the talk show host were on hand at the prestigious college to launch Gaga's Born This Way Foundation.

"I just have one thing to say before we get started: We got Oprah! … Thank you from all of us — from my entire team, from my mother, from the bottom of the hearts of so many people who believe in what we're doing today," Gaga said at the launch. She explained that the foundation seeks to empower the youth of America, adding, "How can we inspire young people to know they have the power to be brave?"

The woman with the most revealing, famous right leg in the biz tells the Huffington Post, “I honestly didn’t pay attention to it. You know what I mean?”

“I don’t watch the shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don’t click on it. And the people I surround myself with don’t really talk about that kind of stuff … I did hear something, but I didn’t pay any attention.”

“It’s as simple as being a woman, picking out a dress you like and having a good night, and not really thinking about anything else.”

Yeah right. More people feel sorry for Kim Kardashian getting flour bombed than believe she posed like that naturally, then didn’t revel in the attention.

Justin Bieber’s ‘Boyfriend’ Teaser Goes Hard

The 13-second preview of Mike Posner-produced track shows off an edgier side of Bieber.

Is it killing you that you have to wait until Monday to hear what "Boyfriend" sounds like? Well, Justin Bieber feels your pain and decided to release a teaser for the lead single off his album, Believe.

The 13-second, blink-and-you-might-miss-it tease is spare in terms of instruments, just bleeps and thumps, no singing or rapping. But it does play up Bieber's love for hip-hop; as it nears the end of the tease, a drum line-style beat kicks in. Come Monday, of course, the whole song will drop for Beliebers' listening pleasure.

The video teaser also includes footage of Bieber in the studio, recording "Boyfriend," which was co-written and co-produced by Mike Posner. The clip premiered on Justin's website late Thursday night.

"This record is different in a very good way," said producer/writer Mason Levy, who also worked on the song. "Definitely edgier, it's more grown-up, it's more developed and it's sexier. It's just like really dope. It's gonna definitely surprise people. People aren't really expecting that. They're going to like it."

It's clear from the teaser that Bieber is using influences from urban music and that he's looking to grow up sonically. The music in the new clip also seems to pay homage to Justin Timberlake, and even Chris Brown. Bieber has confirmed that he raps on the song.

"It's more just the verses [that he's rapping on], and the rest he's singing," Levy told MTV News. "It's dope. It's hip-hop, but with great acoustic R&B, pop guitar with very hip-hop, clubby drums and really dope Justin Timberlake-y melodies."
